the end is near

bmw knows what's up - why would they put so much into such a niche market unless the niche is about to become the main market?

i overheard a conversation today between two top level forestry service officials today and they were both commenting on the inevitable trend to completely outlaw off road riding in California. the two federal employees were in a booth next to me at an ihop near the shasta chappie orv area. they both shared the same sentiment that the blue ribbon coalition was in fact a republican front to ease offroaders fears about trail closures, luring them into a false sense of security, to then later sell the offroaders down the river. they commented on how the glue sniffin coalition (that was their nickname!), was completely ineffective and in actuality had no real lobby in washington, and threw lavish parties and took expensive golf trips at the off roaders expense.

Well I'm here to tell you that that's a bunch of hooey and major assumptions on taxpayer supported employees - it took all i had to sit quietly with my son and choke down my sausage.

go here www.sharetrails.org i did and i'm glad i did!

their last words were: every offroad bike in california will have to have a plate by 2010.

yes, my freinds, there's not much we can do about it, just accept it. get a dualsport bike or start mountainbiking. i firmly believe that the only reason that so many trails have stayed open for so long is that the NRA likes quads, and the NRA is excellent at lobbying on capital hill.

my super inside industry source at kawasaki says there will be a plated 450 - both supermoto and a baja worthy version, available mid '08.
unfortunantly, this will put companies like baja designs and most of the aftermarket moto/dirt vendors out of business, because the bottom is about to drop out!!
ride the track or get a plated bike...what a shame for all of the recreational dirtbikers out there at borrego, hungry valley, pismo, johnson valley, dove canyon and the like. OH and don;t forget about glamis...well on the other hand i'd like to forget about glamis - that's probably a major reason for the impending ban.
just oil for two strokes my friends.

Ciao!
