from the terramostro website:
The Terra Mostro Story:
In the summer of 2006 Kent Harle – CEO and Blaine Dehmlow – President of Overland motorcycles, started with a drawing on a napkin of a true 50/50 dual sport bike that would be purpose built for the rider has to explore those outlying places in order to feel at home in this world. And they never stopped working, hoping, and spending to get it right. Kent’s considerable experience in design and manufacturing along with Blaine’s extensive field experience as an off road adventure outfitter has helped them bring to market a truly unique tool for moto-explorations. Recently the addition of Chris Rodewald, in charge of marketing and promotions, has positioned Overland Motorcycles to offer a compelling option for the adventure purist and enthusiast.

BABY BOOMER "EYE CANDY"

DOVE CHI AUTOBUS?
THE 2009 MOTOGUZZI STELVIO - READ THE COMPLETE REVIEW BY RIDER MAGAZINE HERE.

BY THE LOOKS OF IT IT MAY HAVE SOME CHARACTERISTICS WITH ITS COUSIN "STEVIA", SWEET AT FIRST BUT LEAVING A HEAVY AFTERTASTE. THE WESTIES DOUBT IT COULD RAIL UNTAMED FIREROADS. BUT THAT REMAINS TO BE RIDDEN.

GPS BABEL for THE LOST

this is sniped from their home page - $25 bucks for the software

What is GPSBabel?
GPSBabel converts waypoints, tracks, and routes between popular GPS receivers and mapping programs. It also has powerful manipulation tools for such data.
By flattening the Tower of Babel that the authors of various programs for manipulating GPS data have imposed upon us, it returns to us the ability to freely move our own waypoint data between the programs and hardware we choose to use.
It contains extensive data manipulation abilities making it a convenient for server-side processing or as the backend for other tools.
It does not convert, transfer, send, or manipulate maps. We process data that may (or may not be) placed on a map, such as waypoints, tracks, and routes.

VESPA WORLDS - MONGOLIA

Vespa World Enduro Round 17
After the first 16 rounds most of the riders and bikes were put back together for the final round in smeiodtach mongolia on October 20.
After three laps the race was red flagged due to massive DNF's. The muddy rock laden smeidtakian course proved to be a real challenge fro all participants. Round 17 will resume next weekend after parts are brought in from neighboring China.

Touratech Celebrate Biking Success as Riders Pour into the UK’s New Adventure Motorcycle Capital

The weekend of 27th and 28th September saw motorcyclists come from all over the UK to celebrate motorcycle overland touring at Touratech’s new base at Ystradgynlais in South Wales. Approximately 500 motorcycles and over 1000 people attended at Touratech’s new UK HQ and showroom, which is situated in what is fast becoming the adventure motorcycling capital of the UK. Over 200 of these visitors made best use of the change of weather and camped for the weekend.

Biking and travel celebrity Charley Boorman headlined the festivities by hosting a special unofficial ‘final’ stage of his ‘By Any Means’ adventure which saw police escorted riders following the Charley as he rode a Segway, BMW R1200GS Adventure, KTM 950 Adventure, BMW R1150GS, Yamaha XT660 Tenere and a Mini Moto bike around the town (By Any Means is currently being screened on BBC2). Charley stayed for the entire weekend to talk to visitors and he entertained a packed audience at the evening chat show. There was also a great reception for Dakar Rally riders Nick Plumb and Simon Pavey, who thrilled and inspired the audience with talks about their own adventures.

What to look for in a good Dual Sport Jacket

the Belstaff Che Guevarra

the Belstaff XL 500 - a classic adventure/enduro jacket

here's a recent email that i sent to a friend asking for advice on what kind of jacket to buy:

Well.......i have several jackets. The best of which is my old Malcolm Smith Jacket that I wore last night, but....Thor makes a great jacket as does Acerbis, Moose, Fieldsheer, Belstaff etc. They're all pretty good.
If you want a good warm weather jacket then you're looking for tight wrists and a high cinchable neck. I often ride with a balaclava in the winter that tucks into the jacket. The shift pants that I'm using now are great, fox sucks. I have lined Carharts that work great and actually a highneck carhart jacket would be great, but I havn't found one, not only that I don't think you would find a water proff one.

there's some great gear at Cycle Gear, and great prices. I think Wayne at cycle salvage has used gear and you might find some kind of KRyptO enduro jacket like the one i got on ebay for $45.

Pads vs. NO Pads
a lot of jackets that are coming out have elbow and shoulder pads and armor inserts in the chest making a chest protector a thing of the past. But, you can't wear that big padded jacket on Spring mornings when you need to peel. The jacket is too big to put in a pack. That's another consideration, can you put it in a pack? i like packable jackets and a big pack for long rides - I have a better time when i know i brought the garage with me (extra coolant and oil, food, parts, tools, tubes, extra gloves, first aid, tow straps).

Lots of Pockets
you need pockets man - no zippers, they don't work in the dirt, period. velcro only, snaps rust and break.

good pants should last two years, a good jacket should be handed down to your kids.

What?

Husaberg Magic!

loooook at it - WTF!

crankshaft above the
tranny and a downdraft
fuel injected system

revolutionary
